-

Idesam’s Protected Areas Program conducts studies and projects to support the consolidation of the Conservation Units, which ensures that the rules for using the reserve function properly and that the benefits reach the traditional inhabitants and nature itself. Idesam activities began in 2006, with the preparation of the Plan for Management of Sustainable Development of Uatumã Reserve. In this context, Idesam works to implement management programs focusing on environmental monitoring, natural resource management and community organization, while conducting capacity building focused on professional community training. In parallel, Idesam identifies problems in existing legislation and encourages discussions to resolve such problems, enabling the establishment of public policies.
